Nassau County Officer Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver

Nearly $200,000 has been raised in two days following the death of Nassau County Police Officer Patricia Espinosa, who was killed by a suspected drunk driver on her way to work. The 42-year-old officer, a mother of a 2-year-old daughter and wife to fellow officer Francisco Malaga, was remembered for her dedication and service. The driver, 20-year-old Matthew Smith, has been charged with driving while intoxicated. County flags will be flown at half-staff in her honor until her burial on Thursday.
