Dominican Republic issues official report on collapse that killed 221

SANTO DOMINGO (Reuters) – A report by the Dominican government revealed that the roof collapse at the Jet Set nightclub, which occurred during a concert on Tuesday, resulted in at least 221 fatalities. While the investigation into the structural failure continues, 189 individuals were rescued, and 17 remain hospitalized. President Luis Abinader is set to attend a memorial mass this Sunday, coinciding with the conclusion of the national mourning period, as families grieve and the National Institute of Forensic Pathology works on identifying the victims.
