The Justice Department has moved to dismiss federal charges against Alfredo Alejandro Aljorna and Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, who were accused of assaulting ICE officers in Minneapolis, citing “newly discovered evidence” that contradicts the allegations. An attorney for Aljorna noted that video evidence was inconsistent with the officers’ claims of being assaulted. This decision comes amid heightened tensions in Minnesota following several officer-involved shootings.
