Summary
The Trump administration has targeted AmeriCorps’ National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), a 30-year-old program that engages young adults in various community projects across the U.S., leading to early dismissals of its volunteers due to budget cuts. The NCCC, which employs over 2,000 individuals aged 18 to 26, has been impacted by the administration’s priorities, with funding under scrutiny, prompting the dismissal of members by April 30. Concerns have been raised about the future of these corps members, who sought personal growth and skills development through community service opportunities.
