Driver’s Overtaking Nearly Causes SH8 Head-On Collision

Police have condemned a dangerous overtaking incident on a state highway between Twizel and Omarama on January 6, where an impatient driver nearly caused a head-on collision. Footage captured by a bus shows a small blue car overtaking a motorhome, but an oncoming vehicle forces it back in line. A 4×4 behind then attempted to overtake without caution, narrowly avoiding a crash. The driver of the blue car responded to the concerned bus driver with a rude gesture after being honked at.
