Detroit’s top Black Democrat won’t be on the August 2024 primary ballot due to insufficient signatures claimed by the county clerk.
Former state Sen. Adam Hollier was informed that he would be left off the ballot in an attempt to unseat U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar.
This ruling marks the second year in a row without Black representation in Congress for Detroit, a city with an almost 80% Black population.
