DeSantis says Florida returned $878M in taxpayer funds to federal government after meeting with Musk, DOGE

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the state was returning over $878 million to the federal government after meeting with Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). DeSantis criticized the Biden Administration for ideological strings attached to the funds and urged other states to support DOGE’s efforts. The governor’s office is also looking for additional excess federal funds to return, as part of efforts to eliminate waste within state government and save taxpayers money.
