The aircraft, which had taken off from Atlanta shortly before 7:30 a.m., reported smoke in the flight deck, prompting the crew to declare an emergency. Following the emergency landing, evacuation slides were deployed, allowing approximately 200 passengers and six crew members to exit the plane on the taxiway. A Delta Air Lines spokesperson stated that safety is the airline’s top priority and that affected passengers are being rebooked on a new aircraft to continue their journey to Orlando. The aircraft is currently undergoing a maintenance review.
