SINGAPORE: Mr. Koh Chong Chiah, a CEO of a charity, was awarded S$30,000 in damages after successfully suing the Oxley Bizhub Management Corporation for defamation due to a letter alleging bullying behavior. The District Judge deemed the defamation “moderately severe” and dismissed Koh’s claims for aggravated damages. The case stemmed from a contentious relationship between Koh and the management council, resulting in a defamatory letter sent to all subsidiary proprietors.
