France is sending aid to Mayotte in the Indian Ocean after the territory was hit by Cyclone Chido, causing extensive damage and possible fatalities. The death toll is currently at 14, but authorities fear it could be much higher. Rescue teams and medical personnel are being sent to the island, where hundreds or even thousands of people may have died. The airport and hospital have been damaged, and only military aircraft can currently fly into Mayotte.
