Day temperatures drop sharply in North India; intense cold wave persists in Kashmir

Day temperatures dropped sharply in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh after light rain hit north India, while Kashmir experienced intense cold wave conditions with temperatures below freezing. Himachal Pradesh saw light snowfall, closing 30 roads, and in the national capital, Delhi, a drizzle and fog greeted residents. Haryana and Punjab recorded a sharp dip in maximum temperatures, with rain lashing many parts, while high altitude areas in Uttarakhand received fresh snowfall, intensifying cold across the state.
