Italian courts have approved the extradition of Dave “Pik” Turmel to Canada, nearly a year after his arrest in Rome. Turmel, alleged leader of the Blood Family Mafia, has 15 days to appeal the decision. He faces multiple charges, including drug trafficking and conspiracy, and was named Canada’s most-wanted fugitive in 2024. His return to Canada may take time, as police must escort him back, and the extradition process also requires the Canadian government’s involvement.
