Date named for abortion buffer zone law protecting women to come into effect

A new safe access law protecting women from harassment outside abortion clinics will take effect on September 24th, preventing protests within 200m of thirty clinics in Scotland. The legislation was introduced by Green MSP Gillian Mackay in response to concerns over anti-abortion protests outside hospitals, and passed by a vote of 118 to 1 in Holyrood. Secondary legislation will be implemented to enforce the new law.
