After allowing Sabrina Carpenter to film a music video in his church, Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello was accused of mismanagement and stripped of his duties by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. An investigation revealed other instances of financial mismanagement and violations of Diocesan policies, leading to his removal and replacement. Mr Gigantiello also faced allegations of using church funds for personal expenses and transferring money to bank accounts affiliated with a former staff member of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who was indicted on criminal charges.
