K-Pop group NewJeans has announced their split from their agency Ador, a subsidiary of Hybe, citing mistreatment and manipulation. The group has accused the agency of workplace harassment and miscommunication. Ador insists their contract with NewJeans is still valid and has requested the group to continue their activities with the agency. The dispute stems from a conflict between former NewJeans producer Min Hee-Jin and Hybe’s chairman Bang Si-hyuk. NewJeans have demanded an apology, reinstatement of Min, and resolution of breaches in their contract. The matter is likely to go to court as both sides disagree on the contract termination. Haerin, a member of the group, has stated that it makes no sense for the group to pay a contract breach fee as they have not violated any rules. Hybe shares were trading lower following the news.
