CHICAGO (AP) — The Cubs have placed outfielder Ian Happ on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain, retroactive to May 10, after he missed three games due to the injury sustained on May 9 against the Mets. In response, the team has selected catcher Moises Ballesteros from Triple-A Iowa, who is set to make his major league debut; the 21-year-old is batting .368 with four homers in 34 games this season. Happ, hitting .269 this year, is one of the Cubs’ top hitters, marking his best performance since his All-Star season in 2022.
