Arizona Cardinals sign Uli Udoh, former Titans offensive lineman

The Arizona Cardinals have bolstered their offensive line by signing Uli Udoh, a former player for the Tennessee Titans, marking their fourth addition in free agency. Udoh, who stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 320 pounds, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Over his five seasons with the Vikings, he played in 74 games and started 22, including three starts last season with the Titans. The Cardinals’ recent signings also include Isaac Seumalo, Matt Pryor, and Elijah Wilkinson, with Seumalo expected to take over as the starting left guard after the release of Evan Brown. The competition remains for the right guard and right tackle positions, as both Wilkinson and Pryor have primarily served as backups.

Why It Matters

The Arizona Cardinals’ focus on enhancing their offensive line is critical given their recent struggles to protect the quarterback and establish a strong running game. The addition of four new linemen during free agency reflects a strategic effort to improve the unit, which has seen inconsistent performance in previous seasons. Uli Udoh’s experience in the league, particularly his ability to play both tackle and guard, adds depth and versatility to the line. With the departure of Evan Brown, the Cardinals are actively seeking to solidify their starting positions to ensure a more effective offensive strategy moving forward.
