Christchurch murder: ‘Mental health patient’ pleads guilty to killing Faye Phelps

Elliot Alfred James Cameron, a mental health patient at Hillmorton Hospital, pleaded guilty to murdering Frances Phelps, his employer and a Christchurch resident. Phelps’ daughter Karen expressed the devastating impact of her mother’s death on their family. Cameron, in his 70s, was Phelps’ gardener and was found guilty of her murder at her Mt Pleasant home on October 7.
