John Woeltz, a 37-year-old cryptocurrency mogul, was arrested in New York for allegedly torturing an Italian tourist for weeks to obtain his crypto passwords. The victim managed to escape from Woeltz’s luxury Soho apartment, where he was reportedly chained, electrocuted, and threatened with a chainsaw. Woeltz has been charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment but denies wrongdoing, claiming he was manipulated by others, while his family describes him as kind and caring.
