New Law Against Non-consensual Sexual Images After Grok AI Controversy
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Starting this week, generating sexual images without consent, including via AI, will become a criminal offense in the UK, as announced by Science and Tech Secretary Liz Kendall. This decision follows backlash against the misuse of Elon Musk’s Grok chatbot, which allowed users to create non-consensual images, affecting women and children. The new law will be part of the Data (Use and Access) Act, and will also criminalize ‘nudification’ apps. Ofcom is investigating whether X has violated laws aimed at protecting users from illegal content.
