Southport killer was referred to counter-terror scheme several times before attack

Southport killer Axel Rudakubana was referred to the Prevent programme multiple times before his attack, due to his obsession with violence. Despite admitting to stabbing three girls to death, producing ricin, and possessing an al-Qaeda manual, his case was not treated as terror-related by police. Rudakubana, who had a history of violence and an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, is set to receive a life sentence for his crimes.
