Ugandan police have detained Muwanga Kivumbi, a lawmaker and ally of opposition leader Bobi Wine, for allegedly organizing attacks on a police station and vote-tallying center following recent elections, which resulted in President Yoweri Museveni’s re-election. While police report seven deaths, Kivumbi claims ten were killed at his home amid election violence. Museveni warned of opposition plans to attack polling stations during his victory speech, and Wine has condemned the election results as fraudulent, alleging a crackdown on political activists. Since the election, authorities have arrested numerous youths linked to election-related incidents, highlighting ongoing political tensions in Uganda.
