Eswatini’s government has confirmed receiving $5.1 million from the Trump administration to accept deportees from the US, a deal criticized by human rights groups. Finance Minister Neal Rijkenberg stated the funds, intended for border management, have not yet been allocated for use. So far, Eswatini has accepted 15 deportees, with ongoing plans to repatriate them. Legal challenges regarding the agreement have arisen, while the government asserts its authority to proceed with the deal.
