Covid vaccination protects against severe kidney damage, study suggests

Complications from Covid can significantly impact kidney function, but a study by UCLA Health found that vaccinated patients hospitalized for Covid were less likely to require severe kidney treatment and had a lower risk of death compared to unvaccinated patients. Vaccination appears to mitigate severe disease, which in turn reduces the risk of kidney injury, although limitations in data on pre-existing kidney conditions may affect the findings.
