In a recent decision, a Court of King’s Bench judge upheld unpaid suspensions against two former Edmonton Police Service officers accused of assault and workplace harassment, while overturning the suspension of a third officer who spoke at a freedom convoy event. The officers were relieved from duty without pay by Chief Dale McFee, and all three applied for a judicial review, with the judge finding legal errors in the case of Staff Sgt. Richard Abbott. The officers are no longer with the EPS, with one officer criminally charged with assault and another accused of creating a toxic work environment.
