The B.C. Supreme Court has ordered WestJet to hand over all files on harassment of flight attendants in a class-action lawsuit alleging misconduct by pilots. Justice Jacqueline Hughes criticized the airline for being slow and potentially adversarial in producing documents, ordering the release of all harassment complaints regardless of the gender of the alleged harasser. Lead plaintiff Mandalena Lewis sought all harassment complaint files for the entire workforce, but the court ruled the case only involves breaches of flight attendants’ contracts, giving the airline 45 days to provide additional files.
