Costco’s rotisserie chickens, known for being affordable and tasty, are at the center of a proposed class-action lawsuit filed in California. The lawsuit claims Costco misled customers by advertising its chickens as containing “no preservatives,” while they actually contain sodium phosphate and carrageenan. Although these ingredients are considered safe, the plaintiffs argue they would not have purchased the product had they known about the preservatives. In response, Costco has removed the “no preservatives” claim from its labeling.
