A convicted terrorist from Iraq, Rebwar Hamad, 48, was sentenced to two years and three months in prison for illegally entering the UK on September 19. Previously granted indefinite leave to remain in 2001, Hamad was convicted of terrorism offenses in Italy in 2019 and later extradited. After his visa application to return to the UK was rejected, he paid €1,200 to be smuggled on a small boat intercepted off Dover. The Crown Prosecution Service emphasized his blatant disregard for immigration laws.
