A Scots community councillor has been exposed as a notorious fascist podcaster known as “Mean Peem”.
Jamie Brown, Chair of Invergowrie and Kingoodie Community Council near Dundee, is accused of being in the far-right Homeland Party – which has encouraged its members to infiltrate parish and community councils.
Brown, a post office worker, previously went by the pseudonym “Mean Peem” and spewed antisemitic hate, including speaking positively of Hitler’s Germany.
As a community councillor, he recently enjoyed local press coverage for a campaign against proposed bus cuts in rural Perthshire.
Now, the anti-racism campaign group Hope Not Hate has claimed Brown is a key activist of white supremacist group Homeland.

It was formed as a splinter organisation from the ultra-extremist Patriotic Alternative (PA) – the UK’s most active fascist group.
Hope Not Hate said Brown had engaged in holocaust denial and praised the Nazis in 2021 while posting on an anti-vaccine group on Telegram.
Brown wrote: “The nazis didn’t “wipe out all culture”, that was what the allies did when they firebox [sic] education the museums and art galleries of dresden. The 3rd reich had nothing but respect for classic European culture.
“They destroyed subversive Communist filth, they burned down Magnus Hirschfields sex change institute and the disgusting nonsense they found within. You’re complaining about that?”
The previous year, he wrote that he had “Been aware of jq [Jewish Question] for a while but only just got round to reading this”, posting a photo of the notorious book The Culture of Critique by the American antisemite Kevin Maconald.
In December 2020, he referred to the author Ayn Rand as “k*ke scum”.
Writing in December 2022, he said of Edward I, who issued the Edict of Expulsion that banished all Jewish people from England: “I’m conflicted on Longshanks. Yes he was the Hammer of the Scots but he also expelled a certain tribe.”
We previously revealed the insidious plot by far-right fascists to enter local politics via community councils in Scotland.
David Lawrence, Senior Researcher at Hope Not Hate, said: “Jamie Brown is an extreme individual who is trying to hide true views in order to work his way into Dundee’s community politics.
“This is the MO of the Homeland Party, the fascist group to which Brown belongs.
“Brown is deeply antisemitic and has spoken positively of Hitler’s Germany.
“However, people like Brown try to pose as local champions by latching onto issues with popular support, such as pushing back against bus cuts.
“In reality, Brown is using his position to establish power at the local level whilst covering up his hateful views.”
Brown first came to Hope Not Hate’s attention in July 2020 when he attempted to “groyp” the actress Danniella Westbrook by tricking her into saying a far-right slogan on video stream – a popular tactic of the far-right during the Covid lockdowns.
Homeland was able to successfully register as a political party last month, sparking a furious backlash. PA has been denied official party status seven times.
Listing its official HQ in Kirknewton, West Lothian, the Homeland group is now attempting to downplay its extremist politics and is encouraging activists to gain power at the local level.
Despite Homeland’s attempts to launder its image, most of its activists are drawn from PA and have spent years steeped in noxious racial ideologies and antisemitic conspiracy theories.
We previously exposed other community councillors affiliated with the group, including Simon Crane on East Calder and District Community Council in West Lothian, and David Gardner on Forfar Community Council in Angus.

As a former member of PA, Brown co-hosted the official PA Talk podcast alongside Crane, which was rebranded “HomeTalk” after the formation of Homeland in April 2023.
The show was eventually discontinued due to poor viewing figures.
Brown and Invergowrie and Kingoodie Community Council were approached for comment.
