President Gustavo Petro announced in Bogotá on Wednesday that Colombia will sever diplomatic ties with Israel due to its prosecution of the war in Gaza. He described the Israeli government as “genocidal.”
His announcement took place in a speech in Colombia’s capital city in front of cheering crowds gathered for International Workers’ Day.
