Mark Moran and Daniel Livingstone have been sentenced to a total of nearly 23 years in prison for smuggling half a tonne of cocaine into the UK on a small boat, with a street value of £42m. The men were caught unloading the drugs at a beach in East Yorkshire after sailing a rigid-hulled inflatable boat from Hull, with Livingstone being arrested with the illicit cargo in a hire van outside a hotel in Lelley where they had stayed. Moran, from Argyll and Bute, was sentenced to 15 years in jail for conspiracy to import cocaine, following a trial in which he was convicted by a jury.
