A U.S. Coast Guard crew seized over 5,000 pounds of cocaine from vessels in the Eastern Pacific, contributing to a series of significant drug busts. The USCG Cutter Active offloaded more than 27,000 pounds of cocaine in San Diego, with a large portion from the Munro’s recent seizure of over 20,000 pounds, the largest in nearly 20 years. Twelve suspects were arrested, and the drugs, valued at $203.9 million, were part of Operation Pacific Viper aimed at disrupting drug smuggling. Cmdr. Earl Potter praised his crew’s dedication, and Rear Adm. Jeffrey Novak emphasized the use of aircraft in interdiction efforts.
