The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has contacted the BBC regarding a Panorama episode that edited segments of a 2021 speech by former President Donald Trump. FCC chief Brendan Carr reached out to the BBC’s outgoing director general Tim Davie and executives at NPR and PBS, seeking clarification on whether the BBC provided the edited content to any FCC-regulated broadcaster in the US. The BBC has previously stated that it did not distribute the episode on its US channels due to rights restrictions.
