Five dead in Israeli air strikes near Khan Younis

Five Palestinians, including two children, were killed and many injured when Israeli airstrikes targeted tents for displaced people in Gaza’s al-Mawasi area, according to medics. The strikes followed an incident where five Israeli soldiers were wounded, prompting the Israeli military to claim it was responding to a violation of a ceasefire by Hamas. Israel’s actions have been condemned by Hamas as barbaric and indiscriminate. Since the onset of the conflict on October 7, over 70,100 Palestinians have reportedly died due to Israeli operations.
