Met Office 'threat to life' hot weather alerts accidentally sent to phones

Severe weather alerts warning of a “significant threat to life” were accidentally sent to phones across the UK due to a testing error by the Met Office. The test warnings, issued by a third party aggregator, included alerts for high temperatures, snow, ice, and rain, but were not intended for public viewing. The Met Office has since removed the test warnings and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
