Doctor Who boss Russell T Davies has responded to criticisms regarding the show’s perceived “wokeness,” stating he disregards complaints from “online warriors.”
Following the show’s recent return featuring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor and Varada Sethu as his companion, marking the first instance of a non-white Tardis team, Davies emphasized the importance of diversity in storytelling. He expressed his lack of concern for accusations of promoting diversity, stating, “what you might call diversity, I just call an open door,” highlighting his commitment to inclusivity in the series.
