Aswat Becomes First Jockey to Win at Kempton

Aamilah Aswat made history at Kempton by becoming the first black British female jump jockey to ride in Britain. She finished fifth out of ten on Guchen, trained by Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls. The 20-year-old completed the Riding A Dream Academy scholarship in 2021-22 and participated in the Magnolia Cup at Goodwood this year. Aswat expressed her disbelief, stating, “I can’t believe that my dream to race has finally come true.”
