Recently, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission uncovered records revealing he died in action on June 13, 1943, but his burial site remains unknown. His nephew, Benjamin Mutuku, expressed a desire for closure, noting the importance of being laid to rest near family. Efforts are ongoing to document and honor the stories of forgotten Kenyan soldiers like Ing’ati.
