Christopher Leroy Collings, 49, was executed in Missouri for the rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl, dying by lethal injection at the Potosi Correctional Center. Collings, the 23rd inmate executed in the U.S. this year, expressed remorse in a final statement, while Governor Michael Parson affirmed the justice of his sentence.
