At least 17 houses belonging to the Christian Tripura community were set ablaze on Christmas Eve in Bandarban, leaving residents homeless and devastated. The community had been displaced several years ago and rebuilt their homes in Tongjhiri Tripura Para, only to have them targeted and destroyed. Authorities have responded by providing initial relief and are working to identify and punish the perpetrators amid ongoing land disputes in the area.
