China’s LandSpace launches improved methane rocket

A methane-powered rocket developed by China’s LandSpace Technology successfully launched six satellites into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre, marking the fifth flight of the Zhuque-2 series. LandSpace, the first company to launch a methane-liquid oxygen rocket, aims to develop reusable rockets and has increased payload capacity to meet the growing demand in China’s commercial space industry. The latest launch utilized a new propulsion method involving chilled propellants, a key step towards the company’s goal of achieving reusability by a test launch expected in 2025.
