China’s finance minister says there is ‘large room’ for fiscal stimulus

China’s Ministry of Finance announced plans to increase fiscal support for local governments, state-owned banks, and consumers, with measures including easing local government debt burdens and issuing special treasury bonds to boost state-owned banks’ capital. Finance Minister Lan Fo’an outlined four policies aimed at stimulating the economy, such as using local government funding to stabilize the real estate market and providing assistance to students to encourage spending.
