China retaliates with additional tariffs of up to 15% on select U.S. imports starting Feb. 10

China retaliated against U.S. tariffs by imposing additional duties on coal, natural gas, crude oil, agricultural machinery, and certain cars starting Feb. 10, citing violations of WTO rules. In response, Chinese officials also announced export controls on critical minerals and technologies. While the tariffs are seen as symbolic for now, further escalation and additional rounds of tariffs between the two countries are likely as the trade war continues to unfold.
