China aims to block Meta’s AI acquisition

China has blocked Meta’s acquisition of AI startup Manus, escalating scrutiny of foreign investments in domestic tech amid rising US-China tensions. Manus, originally linked to China but now based in Singapore, had previously announced plans to cease operations in China following its acquisition announcement.
