Chhattisgarh govt to enact bill to restore pensions of MISA detainees

The BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh government will introduce a bill to restore pensions for MISA detainees during the Emergency period, with the legislation referred to as ‘Chhattisgarh Loktantra Senani Samman Vidheyak-2025’. The Congress government had discontinued the pension programme, leading to legal battles and eventual reinstatement by the current government, providing relief to around 350 beneficiaries with pensions ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000.
