Ukraine graphite producer hopes US deal will breathe life into quarry

A US-Ukraine deal to jointly exploit natural resources, including critical minerals, is being negotiated during ceasefire talks in Saudi Arabia. The largest graphite quarry in Europe, Zavallya, has vast reserves but struggles financially due to the ongoing war. Ukraine hopes US investment will revive the industry, create jobs, and generate income for the country’s recovery, but faces challenges in securing military assurances from the White House.
