Syrian forces have entered the town of Deir Hafer

Syrian troops have entered Deir Hafer, east of Aleppo, following the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) withdrawal. This move follows recent talks where Syrian President al-Sharaa promised to recognize Kurdish as a national language. Despite the apparent easing of tensions, both sides accuse each other of violations, with the SDF relocating east of the Euphrates amid military advances by Syrian forces. Approximately 4,000 civilians have fled the area as military operations intensify.
