Israel Gets Coffin Claimed to Hold Gaza Hostage’s Body

Israel has received a coffin from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) that reportedly contains the body of one of the last two deceased hostages, which will be identified by Israel’s National Institute of Forensic Medicine. The two hostages, Ran Gvili and Suthisak Rintalak, were abducted during the October 7 attack that resulted in significant casualties. Under a ceasefire deal, Hamas has returned 23 dead Israeli hostages’ remains, while Israel has given back 345 Palestinian bodies. The recovery process has been slow, hindering advancements in the broader peace plan for Gaza.
