Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has accused military unit CAPSAT of attempting an illegal power seizure as protests escalate over government corruption and living conditions, with demonstrators gaining ground in Antananarivo. CAPSAT has joined protesters, condemning the government’s crackdown, amid reports of violence and high casualties during the unrest.
