CBP to Photograph Non-Citizens for Facial Recognition Database

The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has proposed a new measure allowing the photographing of non-US citizens at entry and exit points for facial recognition purposes, aiming to combat terrorism and document fraud. Set to take effect on December 26, the rule will enable the creation of image galleries for comparison with live photos, with full implementation expected within three to five years.
